Introduction
History
GD Country Garden (IB World) School (GCGS) was founded by SHUNDE COUNTRY GARDEN GROUP (a famous Real Estate Development Company in China) in September of 1994.
Location
GCGS is in the hub of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Macao and Hong Kong in the Pearl River Delta.

Status of the school
GCGS is a private boarding school.
Capacity and Size
GCGS covers 330, 000 square meters of acreage, with an enrollment of 3,500 students that range from Kindergarten to Senior High School (age 3 to 18) with 20 to 25 in each class.
Teaching staff
There are over 400 teaching faculty members, including 40 from other countries and regions.
Curriculums
GCGS is a member school of the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), offering three programs DP, MYP and PYP including the PYP Kindergarten at the same time.
The International Section provides students with IB curriculums, A Level and IGCSE, to help students enter the top100 universities in the world and attain the highest levels of self- accomplishment.
Extra-curriculums
GCGS incorporates numerous explorative activities, such as, Creation, Action and Service (CAS); Areas of Interaction (AOI); and Program of Inquiry (POI). Other courses include dance, calligraphy, folk instruments, orchestral instruments, painting, paper cutting, kung fu, robots, and many more.
Chinese school calendar
There are two semesters (terms) in each school year. The first term starts from the very beginning of September (9) and lasts until to the beginning of February (2); the second semester starts right after the Spring Festival which usually falls in the mid of February (2) and lasts to the very end of June (6).
Technical facilities
Three Teaching Buildings, an International Building, a Lab Building, an Administration Building, a Library Building, an IT Center, an Observatory Tower, two Botanic Parks and a Geography Park, a Gymnasium, a standard Rubber-track Playground, a Heated Swimming Pool and an Open-air Swimming Pool, the Students’ Palace with more than 88 piano rooms, a Theatre with 500 seats. Each classroom is connected by an intercom to both the Internet and the Intranet, linking with Broad Band.
Library
We have two main libraries. One is with 120,000 books in Chinese language and the other with 10,000 books mainly in English and some other languages.
Medical Facilities
We have an in-school clinic offering 24 hours service for all the working staff and all the students. The community hospital affiliated with the school takes care of the health check as well as emergency service.

Materials to be sent
A recent photograph, a cover letter expressing why the candidate is interested in the position, a CV, copies of Diplomas and related teaching certificates, a copy of the passport and recommendation letters from the previous schools.
Working hours
The amount of teaching hours (40 minutes each) for the ESL/EFL teacher should be no more than 50 class periods every two weeks and no more than 44 class periods for the Subject teacher.

Notes:
- Meals fee only covers the cost of the meals in the Chinese canteens. It doesn’t cover the surcharge in the International Cafeteria.
- Should a student stay at long weekends, an additional 180 Yuan RMB will be charged each time.
- The tuition fee doesn’t include foreign textbooks, studying overseas and / or outside province tour in China, competitions fees, TOEFL or IELTS fees, etc.
- Parent-kid classes (around 1 or 2 years old) in Kindergarten tuition is 4000 Yuan RMB per student each school year.
- Dormitory fee or Meals fee will be subtracted from the total fees should a student choose not to live or eat on campus. It must be clarified at the beginning of each semester.
- The meals fee doesn’t include the snack fee. 300 Yuan RMB is charged should choose to eat per semester.
- 1500 Yuan RBM is charged for each kid in Kindergarten for the Noon Nap bed per year.
- Tuition Policy for the second child: apart from the tuitions mentioned above, an extra 1,1000 Yuan RMB is charged for the second child.
