Jiangxi Science & Technology Normal University (JXSTNU) administrators have made a commitment to internationalizing their campus and welcome foreign scholars to teach (in English) in a variety of fields. JXSTNU is located in the southern part of China，a place with a pleasant climate and long history. While it has not taken the fast development pace of China’s eastern ports, it has much to offer a foreign westerner interested in learning about China, in adventure, and benefit from this international opportunity. Located along the southern banks in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, Jiangxi Province is surrounded on three sides by mountains. It is one of the main grain produces, and is known as a fertile “land of fish and rice”. Jiangxi is rich in mineral resources and was known as the “Porcelain Capital of China”. It has many tourist attractions, including four national tourist attractions, the magnificent Mt. Lushan in the north, Mt. Jinggang, a sacred place of the Chinese revolution, in the south, Mt. Sanqing and Longhu. The opening of the Beijing-Kowloon Railway offers tourists a more convenient transportation option.

Founded in 1977, JXSTNU’s campus covers an area of 200 hectares. It is a comprehensive university, a state-level key research base and a regional model of vocational education for teacher training. The university is know for its national training centre of Aerobics for teenagers, a provincial key research base in the humanities, a provincial key lab of Organic-Molecule, Optic-Electronics and Communication and Material-Surface Engineering Science.

JXSTNU has 15 schools and over 60 four-year and three-year programs in 10 disciplines, including science, engineering, literature, history, law, management, education, arts, philosophy and pharmacy. Eighteen of them are at the provincial level. JXSTNU studies in the Fine Arts, Signal and Information Processing, Applied Chemistry, Tourism Management, Art and Design, Mathematics, Music, Accounting, English, Chinese Linguistics and Literature, Physical Education, Electronic Information Engineering, and Photography Engineering have been praised. The university has an enrollment of more than 20,000 full-time students and 1500 faculty members including more than 280 experienced professors and associate professors.
