An exciting opportunity has arisen for suitable and qualified teachers in the subjects of Business Management, Financial Management, Tourism Management, Economics, Computer Science or Information Management, to join Surrey International Institute, Dongbei University of Finance and Economics in Dalian. The positions are start for next academic year which stars from the end of August 2009. We are also looking for talented teachers of English from the autumn term 2009.

You will teach undergraduate and postgraduate students. This position would suit an experienced or degree qualified teacher who is enthusiastic and organized.

1. Professional course experts

1. Weekly load: 10-14 teaching hours (50 minutes for each teaching hour)
2. Students: undergraduates and postgraduates
3. Course: Computer Science, Information Management, Business Management, Financial Management, Tourism Management or Economics,
4. Publication: Published several academic papers
5. Supervision: Guide undergraduates and postgraduates in his/her major
6. Contract period: 2 years

2. English language experts:

1. Weekly load: 16 teaching hours for Oral English or 10-12 teaching hours for English Writing (50 minutes for each teaching hour)
2. Students: undergraduates
3. Course: Oral English or English Writing
4. Contract period: 1 year

As a famous and multi-disciplinary university in China, Dongbei University of Finance and Economics locates in Dalian, an attractive coastal tourist city. It was founded in 1952. Now it mainly focuses on Economics and Management together with Law and Arts. The university consists of 30 schools and institutions, and has 12,500 full-time students. There are 31 undergraduate programs, 54 master’s programs, and 34 doctoral programs offered to be chosen from. Among them, Industrial Economics and Accounting are nominated as national leading subjects; Statistics, Finance, Cameralistics, Econometrics, and Business Administration are provincial leading subjects.

The Surrey International Institute (SII, DUFE) is an academic partnership between the Dongbei University of Finance and Economics in Dalian, China, and the University of Surrey in Guildford, UK，by approval from the Ministry of Education of China.

SII is located at the heart of the campus in DUFE, Dalian - one of the most beautiful coastal cities in northern China. It enjoys an independent academic building in the DUFE campus and is well-equipped with advanced teaching facilities. The Institute has been established to provide students from China and other countries with the opportunity to study full-time for a University of Surrey degree or a dual degree offered by both institutions, and is only the second project of its type involving a UK university that has got Chinese Government approval. 

Both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes are offered by the Institute, which are in subjects aligned with Management, Computing and Entrepreneurship. The programme offered in China is the same as in Surrey thus offering all SII students the opportunity to complete the whole programme in China or study part of the programme in the UK. Surrey students based in Guildford will also have the opportunity to study in China. SII has been established to give students the opportunity to experience a different style of education that crosses cultural boundaries, bringing great advantages to those who participate on it’s programmes. At present, there are more than 700 students are pursuing their study in SII, of which 30 are postgraduate students.
