The college
Founded in 1994, Shenzhen Oriental English College has been the pioneering
and leading private boarding school in Shenzhen City. It comprises a full range of primary and secondary education, from Kindergarten all the way to high school, and a college preparatory program. Designated by the National and Guangdong Provincial Education Research Institutes as an Experimental School with an international education program and supervised by experienced professionals. OEC aims at fostering well-rounded graduates with all the qualifications necessary for the new century.
The location
Located in Bao An Education City in Shenzhen at the foot of the Phoenix Mountain with picturesque natural scenery, fantastic sea view, moderate climate and accessible transport to the motorway network, OEC occupies an area of 150,000 sq.m. (about 200 acres) with a total floor space of as much as 120,000 sq.m.. The College boasts sophisticated teaching and living facilities, spacious and sufficient sport grounds, exclusive European style of architectural design and insightful cultural flair.
The Faculty and Staff
Under the leadership of the management made up of renowned scholars and educationists with outstanding visions, the College has witnessed the amazingly rapid growth which stands on the very top of the list as one of the largest private institutions in the Province. Admittedly OEC is indebted this great accomplishment to the contribution made by its staff recruited from all over the country, and to their admirable expertise and high caliber.
The Mission and Philosophy
OEC endeavors hard to implement quality education on the basis of drawing and absorbing the updated and successful experience and approaches from counterparts at home and abroad. Over the past 9 years of consistent practice a series of patterns has begun to take shape in the College, i.e. its mission: people-oriented; its rationale of teaching: students centered; its principle of management: school-focused; its motto: be erudite, motivated, united and confident; be diligent, inquisitive , thoughtful and committed; to love the students whole heartedly and try to be like their parents. OEC strives to proactively implement the sustainable strategy of sticking to quality, research, features and law.
The Outcome
Up to now OEC has proudly produced thousands primary and high school graduate, some of whom have been admitted by such elite institutions as Peking University and Beijing University of Foreign Studies and overseas institutions in United States, Canada and Australia. OEC also has been proudly selected by Bao An District, Shenzhen City as well as State Education Research Institute as a school of excellence and distinctions
